Pedestal / Bench Welding Machines

RWS Manufacture a range of Pedestal and Bench Mounted welding machines.

Machines can be single or multiple head and even have opposing lower head if required.

Multi Welders

Recent Projects

MFDC Welding Machine, Feeder Refurbishment and Interlocking 

RWS was asked to supply a pedestal welding machine to weld a range of weld nuts from M6 to M12 to mild steel panels 1.5mm - 3mm in thickness. The customer had restrictions on available power as he already has a number of resistance welding machines. 

It was decided that a 100KVA MFDC machine with suitable tooling, refurbished nut feeders and interlocking for the other machines would be the perfect solution. 

Cost to the customer was;

New MFDC machine £14,500 + VAT

Refurbish of feeder units £3200.00 + VAT each.

Interlocking for 5 off machines £2900.00 + VAT  

Micro Welder for welding copper braded wire to tag.

RWS manufacture two bespoke machines, one AC and the other MFDC to fit a rotary table application to weld braided copper wire to crimp terminal contacts. Electrode materials were developed in order to give minimum amount of stiction while generating an uncompromised weld. 

Ironing Board Tooling and Line Welder

The challenge presented was to improve productivity and weld quality of the iron stand to the ironing board with new weld tooling to be fitted to existing RWS projection welders. Also required was a set of fully adjustable weld banks to weld the runner rail to the main board.

The solution was to design and build spring loaded projection weld tooling for the stands and a bespoke welding module with multiple adjustable opposing welding heads, each with a 32KVA transformer.

Resistance Welding Machines

With the evolution of the motor industry and the change from steel body panels to aluminium, so the manufacturing process have evolved in favour of clinch nuts and studs. Thus, RWS has evolved to include in its range of machines, hydro-pneumatic presses from 4 - 16 Tones to allow insert of fixings up to M12 on a fast pedestal type system.

The press is designed to be modular as standard which allows for multiple independent modules to be mounted on a single frame so that multiple fixings of varying types can be applied on a single machine.
